Music in Corrales series. From September through April, the concerts are held in the Old San Ysidro Church- another Corrales "treasure"- usually on Saturday evening at 7:30. We have heard from various performers how much they enjoy playing in the intimate venue of the Old Church with the wonderful acoustics.
On Saturday, February 19 at 7:30 Petar Jankovic will fill the Old Church with the sweet sounds of classical guitar. Petar is a native of Serbia, and will be performing his interpretations of Spanish and Latin-American composers. Described as "an artist who masterfully translates music into emotion," audiences find themselves moved by the connection they feel to this musician. Beginning his studies at age eight, Petar has garnered numerous prestigious awards at major competitions around the world. In the intimate setting of the Old Church you will undoubtedly have an unforgettable evening with an artist having "a character to his playing that is reminiscent of artists like Segovia or Bream."
This performance includes composers Villa-Lobos, Albeniz, and Piazzolla. Classical Spanish guitar at its finest is played with verve and clarity. Jankovic’s 25-year concert career touches his audience through sensitivity and passion, sharing the composer’s goal of reaching the listener’s soul. His commanding stage presence is equal parts energetic talent, skill, intelligence and personal charisma.

|Old Church in Corrales|
It starts off "A new crop of restaurants, galleries, and boutiques has energized this once-sleepy farming village..." A great picture of Milagro Vineyards with a description of their Corrales White "a crisp blend that springs you from a Chard or Sauv Blanc..." introduces readers to one of the hidden treasures in our Village. We currently have three wineries in Corrales.
“A consignment shop with heart” describes Et Cetera .“Meet the local talent” introduces the newest co-op gallery on Corrales Road -Galeria de Corrales, while “Score offbeat finds” talks about Prized Possessions, a great antique shop that features earrings made from antique buttons by the owner (Nancy, one of the owners of my B&B has a pair of these earrings and every time she wears them she receives a compliment.)
“A farm-to-table meal” described Casa Vieja restaurant which uses products from local farmers and produce grown in their kitchen garden. Other Corrales places of note, including Hanselmann Pottery which is open 24/7 , the Winter Growers Market and Hannah & Nate’s Market Cafe were also included. (In future posts I’ll tell you more about each of these businesses.)
Oh- I almost forgot- “Make it a weekend” featuring the Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast was included in the article. The writer Jennie Nunn described our southwestern charm, complimentary Wi-Fi, and yummy breakfasts !! Yes- we were excited to be included.
