Greetings- I am Romeo, the resident Road Runner at the Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast located in the historic farming Village of Corrales, New Mexico. Lots of people ask- where is Corrales? It is adjacent to the northwest corner of Albuquerque- nestled on the Rio Grande- conviently located about 25 minutes from the airport and about 20 minutes from Old Town.
Corrales is a pretty cool place to live and visit- along the bosque are lots of big Cottonwood trees, there are walking paths along the asequia, wonderful local restaurants, charming galleries and shops and several wineries. 2000 horses live in Corrales. Everyone says they feel like they are "so far away" from the hustle of urban living, yet we are just minutes from so many amenities.
My friends at the Chocolate Turtle include other Road Runners, Quail (lots will be here in the spring) and Bunnies. Oops- I forgot to mention- Dallas and Nancy- the owners of the B&B. They are my best friends for I have them trained to feed me when I hop up on the porch. (Sometimes I have to peck on the door to let them know I'm hungry.)
During the coming weeks, I'm going to tell you more about the Village, my home and my friends.
